Is there such a thing as dentisty without a drill?
Some dentists are already using a procedure known as air abrasion or micro abrasion. This technique employs the use of materials such as silica, aluminum oxide or baking soda. The material is sprayed in much the same manner as a miniature version of a sandblaster. Compressed air is used to project the particles through the hand held device and towards the tooth surface requiring attention. The technique is effective for removing tooth decay and is also commonly used in preparation of a tooth surface for application of bonding or sealing materials. | ||
